Baby Delight Dress

[Svenskt mönster finns här!]

I came up with this little design while pregnant with my third baby – after my ultrasound scan had revealed I was expecting a girl (I’ve been blessed with two sons and one daughter.)

This simple baby dress is crocheted in one piece, top down. First, you make the circular yoke in rows back and forth. The yoke has button closure at the back. The skirt section is then crocheted straight onto the yoke, in rounds. It can be worn on its own in hot weather or over a body and tights in colder climes.

Sized for newborn up to approximately 3 months, you can of course use a heavier/lighter weight yarn for larger or preemie sizes.

You will need about 200 meters/ 219 yards sport or DK weight cotton yarn (or other fibre suitable for babies) in main colour and 50 meters/ 55 yards in a contrast colour. You will also need three small buttons.

This pdf pattern uses American crochet terminology. It has been tested and includes illustrations and photographs to help. Click the link to download the pattern:

Hello, I absolutely love this pattern and just completed a dress today! A friend of mine would like me to make this in a size 2T and although I consider myself an excellent crocheted I do not know how to make it bigger. Would you have a pattern for 2T or 3T that I could purchase from you? Thank you very much.

It is such a very beautiful dress! I personally lov it so much! But I’m hoping to make it in larger size since my daughter is almost 7 years old now. Can you help me or perhaps give me suggestion on how many chains to make as a starting point for the yoke part? Thank you so much in advance! ^_^

Thank you! I actually have no idea right now I’m afraid, but I am as we speak creating a grading/sizing spreadsheet to be able to convert this pattern into many sizes, including a top for adults (My own daughter, who is posing in the dress in the pattern photos, is 4 years old now!) So hopefully in a couple of weeks, I will re-release this pattern with many sizes.

Just found out yesterday that my niece is getting her 1st niece and asked me to make something for the baby, she is due early September and I think this dress is very cute and I should be able to find the time to get it done before the baby is born. Thank you!

I thought the pattern was in English, either way I can not get it to load down, is there a problem?
